Director of Employer Relations
Borrowing from her success launching new products and businesses in television and consumer products, Sarah is developing creative new ways to forge partnerships with employers and facilitate meaningful alumni-student relationships. An experienced relationship-builder, she engages employers, alumni, and parents to participate in career and recruiting events, to identify and create opportunities for Bowdoin students, and to build relationships with current students as they pursue careers.
Sarah collaborates with employers to design and customize innovative, informative and engaging on-campus events that reflect their companies, brands, and cultures and drive student interest. Sarah is also exploring creative ways to facilitate alumni-student connections, through which alumni might share insights into careers, companies, and industries, thus better preparing students to take their next steps for life beyond Bowdoin. For instance, Sarah works with alumni to create career treks featuring industry-specific informational events in key locations (e.g., technology in Silicon Valley), as well as regional networking events.
Sarah enjoyed a successful career in media, having served in executive roles at HBO, Turner Broadcasting, and BMG. As a senior vice president at HBO, she led the launch of HBO on Demand, a groundbreaking service that changed the television landscape. Earlier in her career, Sarah worked in consumer products and on Wall Street. She has a broad range of experience in marketing, business development, and strategy.
Sarah’s passions include mentoring young people, musical theatre, Borestone Mountain, chocolate ice cream, and getting out the vote. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
