“My passion for working in low income communities began with studying the constructs and inherited legacies of sexism, racism, and homophobia.

I find myself having discussions with my colleagues about our theories of social change daily, and my background in Gender and Women’s Studies at Bowdoin provides a foundation for these conversations and grade-level decisions.

This lens helps me to interpret everything I do in the classroom, down to the details like how I speak to my students.”
